Toby May
Analyst and Trader
Toby is an Analyst and Head of Trading within the investment team at Goodhart. He has 16 years of investment experience. Toby began his investment career at Bacon & Woodrow, which subsequently became part of Hewitt Associates. At Hewitt, he was an investment consultant, advising clients on all aspects of pension fund investment, including investment strategy, manager selection and alternative investments. After seven years at Hewitt/Bacon & Woodrow, he joined the multi-manager team at WestLB Mellon Asset Management (“WMAM”) in March 2006. He worked on the equity funds, with a particular focus on portfolio monitoring and analytics. Toby became a founding member when Goodhart was created through the management buyout of the WMAM multi-manager team in 2009.
After the launch of the Hanjo Fund in 2011, Toby worked closely with Sean Lenihan, who sub-advised the Fund from Atlantis Investment Research Corporation. Toby works closely with the Granmiznar team, with a particular focus on idea sourcing, portfolio analytics/risk management and trading.
Toby was awarded the CFA charter in 2003 and holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Statistics from Sussex University.
